Founded in 1996 — an Indian-American family's store built to serve Oklahoma City's international community with the flavors of home.

Tropical Hut opened in 1996 when the Koshy family — an Indian-American family building a new chapter in Oklahoma — set out to bring the ingredients of home to a city that deserved a real international grocery. Spices, staples, and specialties that were hard to find anywhere else in the state found a home on N MacArthur Blvd.
We exist first for the international community here in OKC: neighbors reconnecting with the tastes they grew up with, families stocking the pantry for the week, and anyone curious to cook something new. That same welcome extends to everyone who walks through our doors.
Today we're still that hub: Nigerian, Ghanaian, Cameroonian, Caribbean, and South Asian products alongside fresh produce, frozen fish and meat, beverages, and kitchen essentials — run with the warmth of a family store.
Our family's faith in Jesus Christ is at the center of who we are. It shapes how we treat our team, how we serve our customers, and how grateful we are to be part of this community.
